3 things to check, if you do not start your car

If you skip the key in the ignition of your car and not a feeling of fear shot through the head. Finally, there are dozens of things that could cause the engine to fall. Identify the problem has become a frustrating puzzle easier. To solve the problem effectively, you need a basic understanding of what is in the ignition and the engine. There may be many parts along the line and each of them aglitch.

In this article I will make a short list of three things to check when your engine screams to life should be.

Jump Starter

# 1 - drums

Most problems are not caused by the starting battery. Sometimes the pole and the connection suffers from corrosion. Other times, the battery is discharged to the point where not contain sufficient charge to start the engine. In some cases, it dies completely.

If you see corrosion on the pole, you can use a detergent to remove the battery. If after cleaning the pole, yet there is no need to rotate the engine, it is likely that the battery is low or dead. Unless you have a meter that measured the intensity of current to turn on their car. It can be pretty sure that if it starts right away, you need a new battery.

# 2 - Ignition Switch

Bad ignition switch does not happen as often as the batteries, but failure and are easy to control. Actually, the switch is working properly,Turn your key, so that the car is "on" (as opposed to the "starting point" opposite position). Then look on the dashboard. If your switch is working, you will see indications of alarm are displayed on the dashboard. This is normal. Now turn the key ("Start"). The warning indicators should disappear.

You can also check the shift from the lights before starting your vehicle. If, when you try to start the engine, does not dim the lights, the switch is bad.

# 3 - StarterLink

It will not be able to test, just to see if your starter is working properly, but you can test the connection. In the same way that the batteries can accumulate corrosion, so it can start the vehicle battery. If this happens, it reduces the integrity of the connection and can prevent the starter motor. If it does not cause corrosion, but I suspect that your starter is the problem, you can use a circuit tester to test the connection.

Cars, trucks and SUVskeep us blocked by faulty connections or used parts. The good news is that your car is not as mysterious as you might think. While there are many components under the hood, which can cause the engine to run more, most of the problems with the ignition of the battery and starter are connected. Armed with a circuit tester, jumper cables and a friend, you will often be able to solve the problem without a car to a garage.
